Archer Maclean's Super Dropzone casts you as a jet-pack equipped spaceman battling through alien-infested skies on Jupiter's moons. Navigate treacherous terrain while fending off enemies like the lumbering Blunder Storm and aggressive Nemesite. The objective is to clear each level by eliminating threats and surviving the relentless action. The game's standout feature is its planet guardians, massive bosses that require precise timing to hit exposed nerve centers. Each moon's final level adds urgency as players must defeat a leader enemy to save humans from capture. Released in 1995, its fast-paced run-and-gun gameplay and retro aesthetics have earned it a cult following among classic shooter fans.
The action takes place on the moons of Jupiter, as well as on Jupiter itself. At the last level on each moon the player has to defeat a planet guardian. To do this the player has to hit them in their glowing green nerve centre that is exposed at times as they move around. Each wave starts with all remaining humans being beamed up by a leader enemy and to release the men it has to be defeated.
