Arkanoid: Revenge of Doh is a puzzle arcade sequel that expands on its 1986 predecessor with riskier choices and trickier level design. Players guide a paddle through 34 of 64 stages to dismantle floating brick formations while dodging relentless attacks. A new "Warp Gate" system splits levels into multiple versions based on your path between stages. Some bricks regenerate over time while others slide sideways, forcing adjustments to timing and strategy. A mini-boss level adds short-lived combat against a massive brain before the final showdown with the vengeful DOH. The game’s replay value comes from branching paths and editable levels in home versions. The level editor let players tweak all but two stages, sparking community challenges and custom content. Its 1987 release spanned arcades and eight home platforms, from DOS to ZX Spectrum. While early levels in the US version introduce chaotic notched bricks more aggressively than the international release, the core loop of adapting to shifting layouts and power-ups keeps each session feeling fresh. Over 30 years later it remains a favorite among retro puzzle fans for its smart mechanical twists.
The mysterious enemy known as DOH has returned to seek vengeance on the Vaus space vessel. The player must once again take control of the Vaus (paddle) and overcome many challenges in order to destroy DOH once and for all. Revenge of Doh sees the player battle through 34 rounds, taken from a grand total of 64.
