Armageddon is a 1996 rail shooter for 3DO that tasks you with piloting a spacecraft through waves of enemies and hazards. The ship moves forward automatically leaving you to dodge obstacles and line up shots using either first-person or third-person views. Switching perspectives changes how you aim, first-person requires careful movement to align the crosshair while third-person gives more direct control. Power-ups grant temporary abilities like electro bombs to clear the screen. Combat focuses on quick reflexes as waves of aliens and debris fill the path. Tied to a forgotten 90s cartoon the game leans into sci-fi action with time-travel stakes and mecha battles. It remains a footnote in 3DO history partly due to its obscure platform and LG Software’s abandoned PC port promise. The automatic movement mechanic feels ahead of its time but plays like a tech demo for later rail shooters. Nostalgic players note the dated 3D graphics and repetitive enemy designs though the tight controls and power-up variety earn it a small cult following.
The year is 2157. An alien organization with ultra-high technology, ‘Eed’, invades the Earth. As the Earth faces extinction, Elka, a descendant of the lost continent Atlantis, looks with the help of a super power computer Delta 8988, for the last hero who may be able to save the world. It turns out to be Oh Haesung who lives in the 20th century. Marie, a special agent sent from Elka, comes to the year 1996 with the important mission of fetching Haesung. However, Eed also finds out about Haesung and sends an assassin.
