About

Asatsugutori casts you as Hibari, one of eight girls trapped in a deadly loop. Each day ends with someone’s death, and if you’re present when it happens, the clock resets to morning. You explore a shifting building in real time, clicking to move and interact, piecing together clues through dialogue and environment. The twist is rewinding to relive moments, altering choices to prevent fatalities. The visual novel segments reveal character backstories and the mystery behind their predicament, while the isometric exploration demands attention to detail. Every action matters, and conversations often hide critical info. The time loop isn’t just a gimmick, it forces methodical play. You’ll replay days to test theories, avoid traps, and build trust with others. The blend of investigation and narrative tension keeps momentum high, though the story’s twists may divide players. With a 72% on Metacritic, it’s a polarizing but tightly designed puzzle for those who enjoy branching scenarios and moral dilemmas. The Switch and PS4 ports handle the mix of genres smoothly, even if the art style feels dated.

Storyline

When Hibari wakes up, she finds herself in a strange room, where she meets seven other girls in the same situation. An announcement is made overhead the confused girls. “Only one girl, who survives until the end, will be able to leave the building.” “Even if only for a second, we recommend you try to survive for as long as possible. Give it your all, and you may even be able to use magic.” A few days after the girls’ incomprehensible co-living begins, an incident finally occurs. Hibari regretted not being able to stop the scene of death that occurred right in front of her. “If only I could go back to before she died…” The following day, Hibari wakes up and heads to the cafeteria, only to find the girl that was supposed to be dead is still alive as she was the day prior. The ability to travel back in time. With this power, you can start over as many times as necessary. No one will ever have to die again.
