Assassin's Creed: Bloodsail started as a mobile action RPG meant for the Caribbean during the Golden Age of Piracy. Players would control a Mayan survivor seeking revenge while exploring Havana and Nassau alongside familiar characters from Black Flag. The design included naval combat plus both PvE and PvP modes to flesh out the experience. Ubisoft China and VGame Studios announced it at ChinaJoy 2016, but the project never moved past the planning stage for Western audiences. This title sits in a strange limbo since its open beta was supposed to launch in China back in March 2017 but never happened. Rumors claimed a delay into 2018 followed by total silence, leaving it stuck as vaporware without an official cancellation notice.
