Astro Rabby is a 1990 Game Boy platformer where you play as Rabby, a robotic bunny hunting for stolen parts needed to take flight. Each level is a vertical maze of platforms, hazards, and enemies. You jump to reach the heart that powers your next move. Miss it and you repeat the level. It’s straightforward but tough, you’ll die often, but the challenge is satisfying. It’s one of the first titles published by Information Global Service and a curious relic of early portable gaming. The looping levels force you to learn layouts and timing through trial and error. With just 32 colors and a simple soundtrack, it focuses on pure platforming skill. Over 30 years later, it still feels like a direct ancestor to smoother later games in the same style.
