About

Atelier Elie: The Alchemist of Salburg 2 is a role-playing game where players guide Elie through her journey to master alchemy at a prestigious academy. The story lets you choose how Elie spends her time between classes, experiments, and relationships, with decisions shaping her growth and the outcome. Exploration and resource management are key as you craft items and solve problems in a world that responds to your priorities. With 10 regular endings and 2 negative outcomes, each playthrough offers a distinct experience based on your choices. The game’s strength lies in its branching narrative and player freedom, encouraging multiple replays to uncover all paths. Originally released in 1998 for PlayStation, it’s now available on PC, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation Portable through digital re-releases. While its 2D visuals and turn-based combat may feel dated, the depth of customization and storytelling keeps it engaging for series veterans and fans of choice-driven RPGs. The open structure and varied endings highlight its emphasis on personal playstyle over linear progression.

Storyline

After our main protagonist Elie was saved by Marie, Elie decides to follow in Marie's footsteps. She enrolls herself into the very same academy that Marie was once a student at in hopes of becoming a great alchemist. Because of the nature of the game, the player can pursue different directions for Elie's life. The game follows an "open world" type style, which allows the player to make a variety of choices on how the game will progress. In total, there are 10 regular endings and 2 bad endings that are achievable.
