Atomic Ninjas lets you play as a powered-up ninja in fast-paced matches where direct combat isn’t an option. Instead of fighting head-on you rely on traps gadgets and clever environmental takedowns to eliminate rivals. Each arena is a puzzle of hazards like lava pits moving platforms and explosive crates that you manipulate to send opponents flying. The game supports online and split-screen multiplayer letting you team up or go solo against bots in a choice of seven maps filled with interactive objects. What sets it apart is the emphasis on indirect chaos over brute force. Players spend more time triggering traps and herding enemies into deadly situations than trading blows. The PS3 and Vita versions share the same core design but take advantage of each system’s controls. While not as technically sharp as later titles in the genre Atomic Ninjas remains a cult favorite for its mischievous take on competitive play and inventive use of level design.
