Avoid is a minimalist obstacle dodger for Game Boy Advance that strips gameplay to its basics. You control a small block that moves automatically forward while you tap directions to dodge larger blocks hurtling toward you. The challenge ramps up as speed increases and patterns grow more chaotic. It’s a test of quick reflexes and spatial awareness with no frills or story to distract from the core mechanic. This single-player title exists as a pure exercise in tension and simplicity. As one of the few Play-Yan games released, it leans into the add-on’s focus on short, intense experiences. With no save feature and a strictly online distribution model for its time, Avoid remains a niche curiosity. Its lack of complexity won’t appeal to everyone but feels purposeful in its execution.
