Avorion drops you at the edge of a large galaxy split by ancient chaos. Build and command customizable ships complete with turrets, energy grids, and crew management as you push toward the dangerous heart of the map. Trade, fight, or scavenge resources while navigating shifting alliances and escalating threats. Your path defines the game, sail as a smuggler, warlord, or explorer with no set rules or objectives. The galaxy’s procedural design ensures no two playthroughs match, with deeper zones teeming with tougher enemies and rare loot. Players often highlight the satisfying ship customization and the sense of isolation as you chart unknown stars. A small but active community keeps the servers running for co-op or PvP. Originally launched in 2017, it continues to grow with updates from its indie dev team. Available on PC and Linux with both solo and multiplayer modes.

Storyline

A few centuries ago, an unknown cataclysmic event nearly tore the galaxy apart and spawned unsurmountable hyperspace rifts throughout the entire galaxy. Since then, the center of the galaxy has been cut off from the rest and a mysterious alien species, the Xsotan, has turned up there.
