About

Babel follows Zell a teenage orphan and his companions as they navigate a fractured future world split across three continents. After a spacefaring accident strands humanity in an alternate dimension the story shifts to survival and mystery. You guide Zell and his allies through cities and open areas battling waves of enemies in turn-based combat. Each fighter wields weapons and special moves with animated action displayed in a separate window. Progression skips traditional experience points, defeating foes only grants cash while character growth ties directly to advancing the story. This 1992 RPG from Shin-Nihon Laser Soft stands out for its unconventional leveling system and atmospheric post-apocalyptic setting. Built for Turbografx-16/PC Engine CD it blends sci-fi themes with classic JRPG structure.
