Backrooms: The Scream by Skmaestro is a co-op horror game for one to four players. You navigate a shifting, maze-like environment filled with unsettling visuals and ambient threats. The goal is to survive long enough to escape, though the real challenge comes from coordinating with others. Puzzles and environmental hazards force teamwork, but the game’s design ensures panic often outweighs logic. Sound plays a major role, every creak, whisper, and sudden noise amplifies tension. The game thrives on shared play. Friends shouting in real life while someone’s in-game character screams creates a feedback loop of chaos. Early tests show groups take longer to finish than solo runs, not from skill, but from miscommunication and flinching at jump scares. Launching June 4, 2025, it’s PC-only. No story, no combat, just you, your squad, and the pressure to not get lost in the wrong room.
