About

Bakutotsu Kijuutei is a fast paced scrolling shooter from Namco that first appeared in Japanese arcades in 1988. You control a duo, Takky and Hommy, as they blast through waves of oddball enemies to save a quirky one eyed race. The game leans into chaotic action with tight controls and a focus on dodging and shooting through increasingly dense levels. Playing solo or with a friend you’ll juggle firepower and position to survive the relentless onslaught. The sequel to a 1986 arcade title this game carries over its predecessor’s frenetic energy with new stages and boss designs. While it never gained the same attention as other shooters of the era fans of old school arcade challenges note its punishing difficulty and colorful visuals. With only one player option it leans heavier on solo play but co op adds a layer of teamwork when available. The 1988 release now lives on through the Wii offering a nostalgic fix for veterans and a tough test for newcomers.
