"There's no doubt that Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition is a product of its time, but there's also no doubt that it's an absolute classic of the RPG genre. If you're a fan of classic games, pen and paper Dungeons & Dragons or even just of BioWare in general and want to take a look at some of their first forays into the RPG genre, then you really should be picking up Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition. It can be a little difficult to get used to (I play quite a lot of RPGs and it took me a good chunk of time to get the basic mechanics down) but the story you're treated to, as well as the element of nostalgia, makes the effort utterly worth it."

Baldur's Gate 3: Digital Deluxe Edition is a turn-based RPG built on the D&D 5th Edition ruleset. Players lead a party through a large fantasy world, making choices that shape alliances, combat outcomes, and the fate of entire civilizations. The game supports solo play or co-op with up to three friends locally or online, blending deep tactical battles with branching dialogue and moral ambiguity. Set on multiple platforms including PC, PS5, and Xbox, it retains the classic pen-and-paper roots while streamlining mechanics for modern audiences. The Digital Deluxe Edition adds cosmetic items like a custom dice skin and functional gear such as a shapeshifting mask from Larian’s own Divinity: Original Sin 2. It also includes the full soundtrack and printable D&D character sheets for tabletop play. Critics highlight its complexity and replayability, with OpenCritic listing it at 76 and 64% of reviewers recommending it. PlayStation Universe called it "a stunning re-release" while Gameplanet praised its status as "one of the best RPGs of all time." Expect a steep learning curve but rich rewards for those who dive into its systems.
