Bases Loaded 3 is a baseball simulation game that strips away seasonal play in favor of quick exhibition matches. Released in 1990 for the Famicom and NES, it pits fictional rosters against each other with the goal of throwing a perfect game. Players manage lineups and strategies without the long term grind of previous entries. Controls stick to the series’ familiar button mashing mechanics but with tighter batting and pitching timing. The game’s biggest draw is its endorsement by Ryne Sandberg, one of the era’s top MLB stars. While community feedback is limited, the shift to focused single game play and Sandberg’s involvement made it a niche favorite. It remains a curious example of how the Bases Loaded formula evolved before the series’ later reboots.
Bases Loaded 3, in the same way as the two previous installments in the series, comprised a number of fictional teams and players, with no real players. The game's primary objective was to play a "perfect game", rather than winning the pennant-which had been the focus of the previous games in the series.
