About

Battle Kid: Fortress of Peril casts you as Timmy, a hero in a high-tech battle suit and magic gloves. The mission is simple: sneak into a cursed fortress crawling with traps, creatures, and ancient wizard tech to stop a rogue supermech. Gameplay bounces between platforming, gunplay, and puzzle solving as you dart through shifting levels. Originally built for the NES in 2010, it later expanded to Switch and Xbox One. The game sticks to physical NES cartridges despite modern demands for digital versions. Developer Sivak Games hasn’t budged from this setup due to publishing terms. Its challenging layouts and retro pixel art have drawn praise from platformer purists. The mix of flight sequences, hand-to-hand combat, and environmental hazards keeps things lively. Nostalgia and difficulty collide here, offering a sharp throwback to 8-bit action.

Storyline

Mysterious shadowy figures speak of a "supermech" being built. A week later, Dr. Tina Byers, a scientist at Disch Corp, receives an alarming transmission from a long-abandoned place known as Fortress Il'Akab (nicknamed the Fortress of Peril). A race of wizards once lived there and filled the place with traps and dangerous creatures. An unknown group has assumed command there and is developing a supermech weapon. Dr. Byers calls in Timmy to infiltrate the fortress and put a stop to the group's plans. Armed with a prototype battle suit and magic gloves, Timmy flies off in his ship and heads into the action.
