You play as Madelyn a knight in training who teams up with Fritzy her floating ghost dog to fight through castles and dungeons. The game mixes side scrolling platforming with beat em up combat and light puzzle solving. You swing a sword jump over traps and use Fritzy to activate switches or distract enemies. The story moves at a steady pace with Madelyn chatting to Fritzy about her worries and victories as you progress through the kingdom’s ruins. The art style pops with bright colors and expressive character designs that contrast with the dark magic threatening the world. Combat feels responsive though the difficulty spikes randomly in some areas. Players enjoy the goofy dynamic between Madelyn and Fritzy who offer dry humor during tense moments. With under 10 hours of content it’s a short but brisk adventure best played in single sessions. The Switch and Vita ports make it easy to pick up and play through a few levels between tasks.
