Pilot a giant bipedal mech through 12 missions on a mining planet where a virus has turned automated machines against their creators. BattleCorps tasks you with navigating destructible environments and battling mechanical foes using a mix of movement and firepower. The Sega CD version uses sprite scaling and rotation to create pseudo-3D visuals similar to other Core Design titles from the era. The game’s most notable feature is its visual technique which gives environments a layered pseudo-3D effect. While the plot is straightforward the action focuses on precise controls and tactical positioning against increasingly complex threats. Released in 1994 it reflects early 90s mecha design trends with simple but functional mechanics.
