About

Bayoen Wars: Daimadou Senryaku Monogatari is a turn-based strategy game where players command Arle against familiar series villains. Each round lets you and your opponent deploy units like Puyos, Archan, and Kodomo Dragon across grid-based maps. Combat hinges on positioning, resource management, and chaining special attacks. The PC-9800 original leans into tactical depth with simple controls, making it feel both approachable and layered for strategy fans. This 1995 release introduced several characters later expanded in the Madou Monogatari series, though Puyos remain the only recurring face. While data is scarce due to its niche platform, long-time fans praise its clean mechanics and role in the franchise's evolution. The single-player focus and brisk matches make it a quick dive into classic Compile strategy without modern frills.

Storyline

Arle battles several familiar Madou Monogatari antagonists. Both Arle and her opponent can summon Puyos, Archan, Kodomo Dragon, Honey Bee, Gust, and Teppouuo to serve in their army, this game being the debut of all of these characters save for the Puyos.
