Belpaese Homecoming is a comedic point and click adventure where you follow Peppe Nappiotto a hapless young man returning to Sicily after a decade of aimless university years. With no job no degree and his mother’s judgment looming Peppe navigates crummy apartments backstabbing relatives and the absurdity of local politics. Players click through 2D scenes solving trivial yet chaotic problems like dodging nosy neighbors or faking credentials. The humor comes from Peppe’s total incompetence which somehow makes him a political rising star. The game stands out for its deadpan satire of Italian bureaucracy and familial pressure. Developer Fazz Brothers leans into the farcical with exaggerated characters and scenarios that feel both ridiculous and oddly relatable. Released in 2017 it’s a brief but punchy experience clocking in under five hours. While not graphically ambitious its stark art style and sharp dialogue keep the laughs coming. Best played with a tolerance for cultural quirks and humor about failure.
