This futuristic basketball game swaps courts for chaos. You manage a team of robot athletes in 2030 where matches are brutal and rules are loose. Players wear armor referees once enforced and crowd members chuck weapons instead of snacks. The only human left in the mix is Bill Laimbeer who somehow convinced the world to fire all officials. Your job is to buy and trade bots while dominating league play. Every game starts with a robot tossing the ball since humans aren’t allowed near that either. The blend of sports management and over-the-top violence sticks out. For 1991 this was a bold concept mixing arcade action with team strategy. While not a simulation it offers enough customization to keep planning lineups engaging. The SNES version runs smooth for its era though the pixelated robots clashing with laser pistols remains the real draw. A cult classic for anyone who likes their hoops with a side of mayhem.
