Black Touch '96 is a side-scrolling beat 'em up where you play a tough guy chasing down a kidnapped woman through city streets. Fight waves of punks using fists, kicks, and environmental objects while dodging attacks. Health pickups and power-ups litter levels filled with generic baddies and over-the-top bosses. A second player can join as a quirky robed character with his own moveset. The game moves at a brisk pace with simple controls and minimal polish. The co-op dynamic feels more functional than creative with two underdeveloped protagonists. Its 90s arcade roots show in repetitive enemy patterns and limited level variety. Still, the straightforward action and option for local teamwork might appeal to retro brawlers. Shorter than most entries in the genre with little replay value beyond multiplayer.
