Blade Force is a 3D shooter that lets you pilot a high-tech flight suit through a dystopian cityscape. Set in 2110, you navigate seven levels of Meggagrid, a chaotic metropolis overrun by crime syndicates. Armed with nine weapons and power-ups, you battle through environments with six degrees of movement freedom, strafing, diving, and looping to target enemies. The game emphasizes fluid motion and combat timing as you progress through Dr. Grubert’s missions to dismantle the Pitt Family’s operations. The standout here is the flight mechanics, which feel ahead of their time for 1995. With no modern remasters, it remains a niche pick for fans of retro shooters. Its single-player focus and relatively simple design have earned a small but calm community rating, currently sitting at "relaxing" with one vote. The 3DO platform’s limited library adds to its cult status, though hardware hurdles might deter new players.

Storyline

You are entering MEGGAGRID, a thriving metropolis built on the ruins of a city once known as Los Angeles. With the abolition of restrictive measures such as taxes, drug laws, and environmental regulations, large corporations are thriving... and so are the criminals. You find Dr. Grubert, a prominent technologist and inventor, crippled in a terrorist bomb attack. Together, you work to rid Meggagrid of its main criminal organization, The Pitt Family. Dr. Grubert has equipped you with the finest technology to take back the city. Your best chance is to execute the missions he has carefully designed to thwart the forces of organized crime.
