Blaster is a 1983 shooter that drops you into a spaceship cockpit for four increasingly chaotic levels. You navigate a shifting screen by moving in all directions, dodging obstacles while rescuing hostages and blasting alien threats. Each level resets after completion but ramps up in difficulty, forcing you to adapt to faster action and denser hazards. The game shares a universe with Robotron 2084, placing it in the year 2085 with similar retro-futuristic flair. Simple controls and relentless pacing keep the focus on reflexes and quick decision-making. Despite its age, Blaster stands out for its pseudo-3D visuals which felt bold for arcade and Atari 5200 hardware. The cockpit perspective and screen-shifting mechanic were rare at the time, though the game remains largely overlooked. Its Atari version was even developed before the arcade release but never officially launched. Small but tightly designed, it offers a punishing yet fair challenge that holds up for fans of old-school shooter intensity.
