About

Blockout is a 3D puzzle game that expands Tetris mechanics into three dimensions. You maneuver polycubes through a cube-shaped pit, rotating them along any axis and positioning them to fill layers. Complete a layer and it vanishes, earning you points. Incomplete sections block your workspace and speed up the falling pieces. Single player and multiplayer modes let you test your spatial reasoning against the clock or opponents. Released in 1989, Blockout was an early 3D puzzle experiment. It appeared on DOS, Sega Genesis, and other platforms, bending hardware limits with its isometric view. Though not as iconic as other 80s puzzles, it built a cult following among logic fans. The game’s demand for precision and planning makes it a curious relic of arcade innovation. Players who like tactile puzzles might find its cubic chaos oddly satisfying.
