Bloodshot is a 3D first-person shooter for Sega Mega Drive and CD that lets you battle through polygonal corridors with a friend in split-screen mode. You blast enemies with basic weapons while navigating environments that stretch further than most 16-bit games could handle. The Mega-CD version adds smoother visuals but both editions share the same straightforward combat and occasional frame rate hiccups. The game stands out as one of the few first-person shooters on Sega’s 16-bit hardware. Its technical ambition is clear in the deep field of view and relatively open levels for the time. While the Mega Drive version has texture glitches and slowdown, the CD port fixed many issues. Split-screen co-op remains its strongest feature, letting two players tackle waves of foes together. Released in 1994, it’s a niche title for fans of early 3D shooters and retro co-op action.
