About

B.L.U.E. Legend of Water follows Maya, a teen visiting her father at a marine research station. She splits time between conversing with scientists to piece together clues about ancient underwater ruins and navigating submerged environments with a dolphin named Luka. The puzzles often require teamwork between Maya and the dolphin to progress. Movement mimics Tomb Raider’s mechanics but with a slow, deliberate underwater pace. Players must locate air pockets to resurface, adding a layer of tension to exploration. The PlayStation original blends dialogue-driven investigation with 3D platforming challenges. The game stands out for its unusual mix of sci-fi mystery and aquatic puzzle-solving, released in 1998. Its underwater setting and reliance on a companion dolphin for key mechanics remain niche. While the PS3 and PSP ports extend its reach, the original PlayStation version is where most players experienced it. The story’s focus on ancient ruins and marine research feels dated but still offers a curiosity-driven adventure. Smaller puzzles and occasional control quirks keep it from being a classic, but fans of old-school action-adventures might find it a memorable throwback.

Storyline

Maia, a seventeen-year-old girl and main character of the game, travels to Northern Cross, a marine research station where her father is working. The team at Northern Cross is excavating ruins that are believed to be from an ancient temple of the Mu dynasty. After a dream, Maia visits the ruins and investigates the mystery of the temple with the dolphin Luka. Throughout the game they cooperate to solve puzzles. A large part of the game is spent underwater, exploring.
