Bomb Sweeper is a single-player puzzle game from 1987 where you guide a character through grid-based levels to detonate bombs hidden in walls. Using directional inputs you navigate tight mazes pushing solid barriers out of your way or sliding them into position to create paths. Each stage requires reaching at least one explosive to advance with faster completion times earning bonus points. Challenges shift between twitchy platforming and spatial reasoning as you balance speed against careful planning. The game stands out as one of Nintendo’s earliest Game & Watch titles exclusive to North America and Europe. With no Japanese release and a model number BD-62 it remains a niche entry in the company’s catalog. Its simple mechanics of wall manipulation and time-based scoring predate similar concepts in later puzzle games but feel distinctly retro. Players who enjoy methodical problem solving might recognize echoes of its design in modern grid-based challenges though Bomb Sweeper itself is short and straightforward.
A thief is trying to blow up a safe in order to steal the money within it. The safe's guard tries to stop the bombs by disposing them to protect the safe and the money.
