About

Boogerman II: The Final Adventure is a 1997 platformer from Rex Soft that runs on the Family Computer. It’s an unofficial adaptation of an earlier Mega Drive title but feels distinctly stripped down. The action moves at a plodding pace and the controls often lag behind similar games from the era. Players gain two new abilities Belch and a Flame Gas move requiring a specific button combo but lose access to features like garbage piles and the Milk Jug powerup. Two bosses FlyBoy and Revolta are also absent compared to the original. This version sharpens its identity with clearer music and a different intro sequence where text scrolls vertically without the animated setup. The level layout diverges too only including two of four stages each separate rather than condensed. This structure mirrors Earthworm Jim 3 another 1997 title by the same developer. While it lacks the polish of its predecessor the changes carve out a niche feel. Shorter levels and quirky mechanics might appeal to fans of retro platformers willing to tolerate rougher edges.
