Bouncing Bluster is a paddle-based brick-smashing challenge that leans into fast-paced reflexes. You guide a horizontal paddle at the screen's base to ricochet a ball upward, chipping away at rows of blocks. Each pop of a brick clears the path for more, with five lives to spare before failure. The game ramps up as you go, with shifting layouts and added hazards to keep your focus sharp. The real hook lies in the powerups that rain down after each hit. Catch a wider paddle to stretch your reach, or nab a second ball to juggle destruction. Some rounds let you blast enemies with lasers or lock the ball to your paddle like a grappling hook. Though it launched on the Apple IIGS in late 1989, the design feels squarely in line with the era's best brick-busting arcade titles. It's a brisk, no-frills test of hand-eye coordination that still holds up for quick bursts of chaotic fun.
