Brain Voyage is a puzzle simulator that sends you traveling through 13 global cities, each offering a set of challenges designed by Dr. Reiner Knizia. You tackle 16 core puzzles with five variations each, including familiar staples like Memory and Minesweeper clones as well as more inventive hybrids such as a poker-inspired grid-based solitaire game. Your performance earns medals and coins, which unlock new cities or increase difficulty levels for previously solved puzzles. The game’s strength lies in its variety and escalating complexity. Each puzzle variant introduces fresh mechanics while the reward system keeps progression satisfying. The mix of classic and original concepts appeals to a broad audience. Though released in 2008, its focus on mental agility and replayability holds up well on the Nintendo DS.

Storyline

There are five variants for each of the 16 puzzles. These include clones of Memory or Minesweeper as well as a poker/solitaire hybrid in which the player's dealt cards and then he must try to place them in a grid to make the best hands. Depending on his score the player then gets rewarded a bronze, silver or gold medal and some coins which can then be spend for access to new cities (and therefore new puzzles) or purchasing new difficulty levels for any already unlocked puzzle.
