About

Brawl Brothers is a side-scrolling beat 'em up from 1992 that lets you play as Rick and Doug, two martial artists hunting down abductors in Bayside City. The game mixes hand to hand combat with crude weapons like bats and knives, and things get wilder as you take damage, your characters enter a rage mode that makes them hit harder. You can play solo or team up locally, bashing through hordes of enemies in levels that shift from urban streets to a sci-fi air fortress. The controls are tight for a game of its era, balancing fast movement with a roster of wrestling style throws and kicks. The standout here is the escalating intensity. Taking hits doesn’t slow you down, it fuels your attacks, creating chaotic moments where battered fighters unleash powerful combos. Co op play keeps things fun for two players, and while the story about cloning experiments is basic, the over the top action makes it memorable. Originally on Super Nintendo, it’s now on Wii and Wii U, letting newer audiences tackle the same brutal levels that defined early ’90s brawlers. A straightforward but punchy experience with plenty of local multiplayer appeal.

Storyline

People are going missing in Bayside City and the rumors say someone conducting a shady human cloning experiment is responsible. For Rick (a.k.a. Hack) and Doug (a.k.a. Slash) this situation has become personal. Especially after three friends from their martial arts gym get abducted. The duo set off to the enemy's secret air fortress to sort this out. These guys know all the moves, from martial arts to pro wrestling throws, and they don't hesitate to use them. They’re not afraid of using knives, bats, and other things they find to get the job done. And if that wasn’t enough, when they get hurt they get angry—and you really don’t want to mess with them then. They ignore damage and hit even harder than usual! They’re ready for the action. The question is: are you?
