About

BS F-Zero Grand Prix 2 is a sequel built for the Satellaview, split into two parts released in August 1997. It sticks to high-speed racing with a set structure, players complete timed practice laps before each Grand Prix race. The SoundLink version swaps out tracks from the original, adding two new courses called Forest I and Forest II. Course lists suggest the total track count might have doubled, but no options for replay or customization exist. The announcer and music are overhauled, with a live-broadcast format locking players into a linear race order. This version remains a niche oddity due to its split release and limited availability. Surviving recordings show rearranged tracks and a strict play sequence, making it more rigid than the original. While data on player reception is sparse, its structure and exclusive tracks keep it a point of interest for retro racing fans. The forced progression and lack of flexibility highlight its broadcast origins, setting it apart from later entries in the series.
