Bubble and Squeak follows a bald child navigating side-scrolling levels filled with enemies that drop coins when hit. Early levels lean into straightforward platforming but shift gears when a blue alien named Squeak joins the run. Players must alternate control between the two characters each with distinct movement limits. The child can jump higher to reach switches while Squeak waits below. Standing on Squeak’s head gives a launch boost for extra-tall gaps. Progression relies on timing and coordination as obstacles grow more complex. The game’s standout comes from its dual-character puzzles which separate it from 1990s platformers. Launch mechanics and staggered abilities create fresh challenges across 30 levels. Originally released in 1994 it runs on Sega Mega Drive Amiga and Amiga CD32. While not widely remembered today its blend of action and problem-solving has gained retro fans for its clever use of limited hardware.
