Bulletombe is a side-scrolling shooter with platforming elements set in a mythological Greek world. You play as Pandora, tasked with chasing down chaotic evils unleashed from an ancient vase. Armed with a bow and magical artifacts, you’ll navigate hazardous terrain while fending off creatures corrupted by the disasters they leave in their wake. The cherub Lucy provides guidance and occasional power-ups as you leap between ruins and battle waves of enemies. The game stands out for its vibrant hand-drawn visuals and tight controls that balance action and precision. Environmental hazards and enemy placements create dynamic challenges, though the narrative leans into familiar myth tropes. With projectile management and physics-based jumps central to both combat and exploration, it offers a crisp, focused experience. Route5Games’ title clocks in under ten hours, delivering a brisk but satisfying blend of reflex testing and mythic adventure.
In ancient Greece, in the land of Helenia, a young woman who lived in the mountains closest to Olympus was in charge of looking after a mysterious vase inside the temple. One day the vase was making strange sounds and when Pandora went to check on it, the vase burst open and released all the evils that lay within, and along with them, a cherub named Lucy appeared to inform Pandora that this event would cause untold disasters on earth and that it was necessary to recapture them. Pandora, with great courage and the power of hope that still resides in the vase, decides to travel through Helenia in search of the evils; luckily they are not too far away and the disasters they bring behind them are clearly visible.
