Bunch of Heroes throws you and up to three friends into chaotic shootouts against aliens and their zombie army. Each character has distinct skills and gadgets letting you mix tactics between gunfights explosives and over the top finishing moves. The single player campaign bounces between wacky missions like defending a beach or sabotaging alien tech while multiplayer modes pit teams against each other in fast paced battles. Co op play keeps things lively as you coordinate defenses or charge headfirst into enemy lines. The game’s charm comes from its goofy tone and wild level designs from skyscraper rooftops to swampy ruins. It doesn’t take itself seriously which makes the relentless action easier to swallow. Players can revisit modes with shifting objectives or unlock new gear to tweak playstyles. Though released in 2011 it still holds up for quick sessions of chaotic teamwork and explosive set pieces.
