Bunny Hill Horror is a point-and-click visual novel that mixes absurd humor with chaotic horror. You play a down-on-their-luck protagonist caught in a madman’s plan to revive a mythical kingdom. Navigating cryptic puzzles and dialogue choices, you’ll avoid zombies, dodge genetic experiments, and resist the charms of dangerous characters. All while racing to a pub quiz to appease your friend Dave. The game leans into its offbeat tone with sudden shifts between dark themes and mundane British quirks like referencing a Father Ted nightgown as a key item. The game’s setting blends real-world locations with fictional twists. Outside scenes were shot at Staffordshire’s Bunny Hill, while castle interiors use Tamworth’s real architecture. Most characters are Deviant Art models, but Dave’s actor wrote the game. The Itch.io version is 13+, but an uncut 18+ edition exists on other platforms. Bunny Hill Horror appeared in the 2020 Itch.io Black Lives Matter bundle, which raised over $8 million. Its cult following praises the unpredictable story and sharp writing, though the mix of slapstick and gore might not suit all tastes.
You have a problem: you're out of work, and the government is threatening to cut off your benefits. Don't worry- Oswald Mandias will help you. He'll help everybody. Once his dreams of resurrecting an ancient kingdom are realised, nobody will be spared his benevolence. In this visual novel adventure, you must outwit zombies, genetically modified monstrosities, seductive sisters and one very sadistic secretary, in order to prevent a dark and terrifying future for mankind. Oh, and get to the pub quiz in time because your mate Dave won't stop nagging you about it.
