Cabela's North American Adventures is a hunting simulator that lets you track and take down wildlife across North American environments. You build your own firearms using interchangeable parts like barrels and scopes to suit your playstyle. A cameraman follows you in-game to capture your hunts but only records when your shots are clean and precise. Play solo or team up with three others online on Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3. Between missions you can compare scores on leaderboards to see how your skills stack up. The custom gun builder stands out for its depth letting you tweak over 100 components to create thousands of weapon variations. The cameraman mechanic adds pressure to aim carefully since messy kills break the footage. While the 2010 release shows its age the core loop of hunting and customization still works for fans of the genre. Available on multiple platforms including older consoles though online features may be limited now.
