Calipso is a frantic underwater platformer where players race to collect sunken treasures before their oxygen runs out. You navigate rocky seabeds and coral obstacles, balancing speed with caution to maximize the time you have left. Up to two players can compete head to head, either cooperating or clashing over loot. The game leans into tight controls and punishing time management, making every second feel urgent. The simplest mechanics here are also its strongest. The air supply timer adds relentless tension, pushing players to optimize routes and take risks. While crude by modern standards, the raw competitiveness and quick rounds made it a stand-out in arcades. Tago Electronics released multiple variants of the game, each tweaking the formula slightly.
