About

Calm Falls is a 2002 indie RPG crafted by German developer Kelven using RPG Maker. It follows Steve as he navigates the secluded town of Calm Falls, where the locals act odd and bizarre creatures lurk in the shadows. The game leans into point-and-click exploration and dialogue-heavy interactions to figure out why Steve is trapped there. The town’s layout feels claustrophobic, with limited escape routes and cryptic clues scattered through environmental details. This early German indie title carved a niche with its moody, low-poly visuals and unsettling atmosphere. While its mechanics stick to RPG Maker basics, the story’s focus on isolation and distorted townsfolk earned it a cult following among fans of psychological horror. As one of the first Silent Hill-inspired games from Europe, it laid groundwork for later indie horror hybrids.
