Cannon Ball is a simple but frantic arcade game where you control a robot that can only move left or right across the screen. Your job is to shoot a bouncing ball that splits into smaller balls each time you hit it. These smaller balls bounce faster and multiply, forcing you to react quickly. If any of them touch you, it’s game over. The controls are limited to basic movement and a single upward shooting direction, which keeps the action tight but demands precise timing. The real challenge comes from how the ball spawns more obstacles with every hit. Early levels feel manageable but quickly spiral into chaos as the screen fills with tiny, fast-moving targets. Without power-ups or special abilities, success relies entirely on reflexes and pattern recognition. While there’s nothing complex here, the escalating tension and pixel-perfect collision detection make it addictive in short bursts. Released in 1983, it’s a straightforward test of skill that still holds up for players who enjoy old-school simplicity.
