Canyon Bomber is a 1978 arcade shooter from Atari where you pilot a blimp or biplane over a canyon filled with numbered rocks. Your job is to press a button to drop bombs as you fly past, targeting rocks to earn points. You don’t steer, your craft moves automatically, so the challenge lies in timing your drops to hit shrinking clusters of rocks. Miss three times and you lose. The game ramps up tension as rocks vanish, forcing quick decisions under pressure. The simplicity of controls contrasts with the game’s tricky execution.
