Castlevania Lords of Shadow - Limited Edition puts you in control of Gabriel Belmont as he battles through a dark gothic world with a chain whip called the Combat Cross. The third-person action focuses on fluid melee combat where you string together up to forty different moves using the whip. You can slash enemies directly or unleash area attacks when surrounded while also switching to secondary tools like knives and holy water. Magic abilities split between offensive and defensive spells let you adapt to tough situations. The whip itself gets stronger over time and can block incoming hits adding another layer to the combat. The game launched in 2010 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 and remains a fast-paced brawler with tight controls. The combo system and weapon upgrades keep matches feeling fresh even as the difficulty ramps up. While some players found the story pacing uneven the combat mechanics hold up well. It offers around 8 to 10 hours of playtime with optional challenges to extend the experience. The Limited Edition includes the base game plus a separate downloadable content pack with extra levels and outfits.
