About

Philips' Odyssey 2 cart features two quick games. Catch the Ball is a frantic single or two-player arcade game where a clown must chase a rolling ball through a maze of shifting barriers. You nudge the character left or right with a joystick and tap the action button to sprint. Six modes vary turn order and time limits. Noughts and Crosses is a standard tic-tac-toe variant using red squares and blue circles. Move a "+" cursor to place symbols, then reset the grid by selecting overlapping marks if needed. Both titles emphasize simplicity over complexity. Catch the Ball modes include timed races and alternating turns after each catch or failure, keeping replay short but adjustable. The maze patterns feel slightly random but not chaotic, balancing luck and reaction. Tic-tac-toe stays classic with minimal tweaks. While neither game pushes technical boundaries, the sharp controls and fast match resets make them solid choices for quick sessions. Each title clocks in under 1980s hardware constraints but offers enough variety to justify the dual pack.
