Chambered Fate flips the script on shooter mechanics by putting you in control of the bullet. Instead of aiming a gun, you guide a single projectile through each level steering it toward enemies using physics-based collisions. Each chambered level challenges you to eliminate targets with minimal shots leveraging environmental objects to alter trajectories. The twist lies in planning backward, anticipating how ricochets and obstacles will funnel your bullet to its target. This GMTK Game Jam 2023 entry earned praise for its clever inversion of familiar gameplay. Players noted the tight physics and escalating complexity as later levels introduce moving enemies and multi-stage puzzles. While short in length the game’s core loop of precision and strategy keeps it engaging. Strange Ape Games’ concept proves sometimes the best ideas come from thinking like a bullet.
