Championship Pro-Am is a 1992 Sega Genesis title that mixes racing with shooty bits. You pilot a remote-controlled car through 32 tracks where you dodge oil slicks and water traps while snatching upgrades like engines and tires. The twist is grabbing weapons to fire at rivals trying to do the same. The Genesis version adds one more opponent and sharper visuals compared to its NES predecessor but keeps the same chaotic formula. This one stands out for its weird combo of arcade racing and combat. The Genesis edition’s improved graphics make the track hazards pop more than the older version but it’s still a product of early 90s design. The little details like replacing “NINTENDO” with “CHAMPION” in unlockables hint at the game’s playful spirit. It’s a quick pick for those who like their races to feel like a pinball machine full of road rage.
