Chess is a classic strategy game where two players battle to outmaneuver each other on an 8x8 grid. Each piece moves uniquely with the goal of trapping the opponent’s king in a checkmate. This version from Microsoft offers simple controls and a no-frills interface. Play against the AI or take turns with a friend on the same PC. The rules are straightforward but mastering them takes years. Released in 1992 as part of Microsoft Entertainment Pack 4, this was one of the first Chess games for Windows.
