Chiller is a fast paced shooter that tasks you with eliminating every character on screen as quickly as possible. Set in medieval environments the game features scenes of restrained NPCs and graphic violence. Originally an unlicensed port of an Exidy arcade title it was released for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1990. The gameplay focuses on rapid fire accuracy with minimal pause blending chaotic action and dark themes. The game is often cited as one of the most violent titles ever made for the NES. Despite its unlicensed status it included some censorship with certain elements covered to meet platform standards. Released in Australia by Home Entertainment Suppliers it remains a controversial relic of 1980s gaming. Single player only it’s a stark example of how boundaries shifted during the early video game era.
