CJ's Elephant Antics tasks players with guiding a baby elephant named Columbus Jumbo through side-scrolling levels as he treks from France back to Africa. The game blends running, jumping, and environmental puzzles across varied terrain. Single-player mode focuses on CJ’s solo journey while multiplayer lets two players team up to navigate obstacles and avoid hazards. Simple controls and straightforward level design make it accessible but challenging. Developed in 1991 by Genesis Software, the game saw ports on multiple platforms including DOS, Amiga, and ZX Spectrum with Codemasters handling most releases. The NES version arrived in 1992 as part of a compilation cartridge. Though largely forgotten today, its presence on so many early systems gives it a niche appeal among retro gaming collectors. The story of a determined elephant using an umbrella mid-fall adds a quirky charm to its otherwise straightforward gameplay loop.
After being captured in Africa for the purpose of being put in a zoo, turbulence hits the plane transporting CJ to England causing his cage to open, he grabs a nearby umbrella and leaps out of the airplane while somewhere over France. After landing CJ realises he will have to make his way back home to Africa on foot.
