Clandestine is a tactical stealth game where players take on two distinct roles during missions. One controls a field agent sneaking through hostile environments while the other manages a remote hacking station to disable security systems. The story follows a covert CIA-FSB team hunting down assassins targeting former Cold War spies in the mid-90s. Missions unfold across European and North American locations with objectives that require coordination between the active agent and support hacker. The fixed camera angles and retro aesthetics evoke 1990s action films with a focus on precise movement and timing. The asymmetrical co-op design forces players to communicate constantly as each role has separate tools and visibility. While the single-player mode lets one handle both jobs solo, the game thrives when played with a partner. Its niche blend of stealth mechanics and Cold War intrigue has earned a small but dedicated following. The 1996 setting influences everything from the tech to the music, creating a distinct atmosphere that feels different from modern espionage games.

Storyline

The year is 1996, five years after the dissolution of the Soviet Union. A string of accidents and murders gone mostly unnoticed by the public eye have put the world of international espionage on high alert – veteran Cold War operatives from both sides of the former Iron Curtain are being assassinated around the globe. High-ranking officials of the CIA and the FSB secretly establish a joint task force to investigate the leaks. Codenamed The Kingbridge Executive, the group is funded with whatever money could be skimmed off of official projects and staffed by whoever could be spared from official operations. As field operative Katya Kozlova or hacker Martin Symborski, you will be deployed on dangerous missions across Europe and North America, chasing the source of the leaks.
